It's your UNION because your a professional publisher who either makes money from your work, or uses your writing to showcase your talents for related work.
You want to be part of the Union because you want to be part of a community working for your rights as a publisher while you work on what you do, publish. Working to make sure your years of work is met with the same diligence by entities entreating you to allow them exposure on your space, your work, your world.
P.U.B. is your Union. While you publish, P.U.B. is working to make sure blog platforms & blog 'Widgets' provide transparency on issues critical to success of Blog Publishers, including but not limited to:
1) The business plan of blog platforms, blog widget providers; all entities servicing Blog Publishers.
2) The entities backing them. Now, when they change. Who are they and what are their motivations. What other entities are they affiliated with? Is their conflict of interest?
3) How are these entities financed? Now? In the future?
4) What are their long term prospects? Can a publisher trust incorporating them as a critical component of their work? What if the product fails? What is the risk? The reward?
5) If they generate profit, what is this profit? What % is provided to the publisher responsible for the work; the reason the monetization is happening?
P.U.B. represents Blog Publishers on big 'back end' issues critical to their success. To work, P.U.B. needs Blog Publisher members. For their input, ideas, concerns, and stories. We invite you to join FREE as a charter member to provide input on issues P.U.B. needs to address.

I've heard lots of talk of bloggers forming a union to get better representation, but to my knowledge one does not exist besides P.U.B.

First and foremost, simply advising entities your part of the Blog Union gives them an immediate heads up to play fair and square, with complete transparency...

Currently, P.U.B. is advising Publishers not to install Lijit Software on their blogs until exactly what percentage of money Lijit is making from your blog is revealed by Lijit and the % they plan on paying the Publisher announced.
P.U.B. is also concerned about how Lijit is currently positioned to use content from the blogs its software is installed on.

Barney playing by your own rules you should tell people you are a former employee of Lijit who has an axe to grind. That your PUB exists solely to harass Lijit and you go around leaving comments on people's blogs who use Lijit, sowing disinformation, fear and doubt. If I were them I would sue your pants off, but you probably don't have enough assets to make it worthwhile. In the meantime, please refrain from commenting on my blog!

All unions are started by workers who have concerns in a workplace.
P.U.B. has a F.A.Q. addressing Lijit's position: since I worked with them this in some way means the call for transparency from Lijit is not necessary. This is why P.U.B. advises publishers themselves to ask Lijit directly and get an answer for themselves.
The reason Lijit is not taking legal action its threatened against P.U.B. is this would expose the question that concerns publishers: Is Lijit solvent moving forward? Whoever I am or was, the question speaks for itself.
Less than 5% of publishers have opted to censor this question, but of course this is your right, and we appreciate your opinion.
To date P.U.B. and the community of Blog Publishers has forced Lijit to at least begin to share revenue, and that's a small victory for Publishers you can enjoy. Transparency will be next, whether P.U.B. or an individual Publisher secures it from Lijit.

Barney - your twisted. Bloggers are not employees of Lijit or other blog search/advertisers. Far cry from union workers. I am sure the reason for no legal action is you don't have assets to make it worthwhile. There is no community of blog publishers. In fact other than this blog I have not found one other blog that claims to be a member.

Yes most definitely America has quite a few bisexual wives. I much appreciate your education into the percent that Google AdSense offers myself and my clients, who I'd build and design websites, & blogs. Blogs are my forte is I'm great at manipulating Google and getting number one with particular keywords or tags. I write 2 other blogs that your post would fit this particular genre; http://MarketSellMoreBooks.blogspot.com or http://www.BookBlogMarketing.blogspot.com . There is some great information on both those blogs.
Barney, if you wouldn't mind it would be great if you copy and paste this post. Minus the the question about bisexual wives. LOL... I am an avid member of the Connecticut Authors & Publishers Association www.aboutCAPA.com where I build and receive many of my blog clients. I'm extremely cost-effective, and don't charge for my training as I teach published authors, literary agents, publishers, editors, and so on as to generate further revenue utilizing affiliate links & marketing. Mainly, commission Junction or Amazon Associates, & AdSense. It allows published authors to double dip considering the commissions authors receive are pennies from the publishers. The average royalty check is $.053 for every $19.95 book sold. That's just as pathetic like Lijit, Google that you've talked about. I usually start my clients off with Bogger, because of its simplicity. However, I prefer working with TypePad. I'm not a big fan of WordPress, because they don't allow you to add Amazon affiliate links, etc. Maybe I just need to be shown how to use it more effectively. My number one blog that received 19,000 hits last year; http://www.OtherMan.typepad.com. Primarily because it is number one on Yahoo, & now Bing. If I have blog clients that are more computer savvy and understand a little HTML. I'll recommend TypePad.
Most of my authors make more from Amazon affiliate links than they do from their publishers. I'll definitely do some research on P.U.B. and posts links to my authors, blogs and websites. I'll also do an article in a magazine I write for called "The Authority." Information is power, and as you stated, we must make a stance and stand together united as one.
Barney, how did you find my Blog? Was it number one in the search engines? That's my talent that God gave me. Anything I can do for you just send a post and we can talk on the phone.

Insure all online independent publishers, despite their independence and unique points of view, are treated as a united group when it comes to how each publisher is compensated for the vital content and web real estate a publisher chooses to share.
This involves many evolving aspects, such as protecting content, transparency from companies who solicit publishers, both on what they make and what they do with content (the recent Google/China issue is relevant to our publishers community, for example).
I was forwarded your site by a P.U.B. member, we work low-tech, by word of web, and reach out individually to publishers. I read your site and felt compelled to post.
